A source of specialist support when it matters most

Wellspring Psychology and Consulting Services CIC is a community interest company built on one belief: that access to high-quality psychological support should not depend on circumstance.

Founded by Tanya Malcolm, Wellspring is built on both professional expertise and deeply personal understanding. As a care leaver herself, Tanya’s passion for this work is rooted in first-hand experience of the challenges many of our clients face, and a lifelong commitment to making sure the most overlooked people in our communities are seen, supported, and given a genuine chance to thrive.

Over more than a decade working across specialist mental health services, forensic settings, and community-based projects, Tanya has walked alongside people through some of their most difficult chapters — including young people in the care system, asylum seekers, refugees, those facing homelessness, and individuals navigating complex mental health difficulties. That experience, combined with years of delivering community-led projects across London, now shapes everything about how Wellspring works.

Collectively, the Wellspring team brings together over fifteen years of experience across psychology, CBT, and community development — united by a shared belief that mental health support and employment opportunity should never be two separate conversations.

Research shows that people with work-limiting mental health conditions are half as likely to be in work compared to those without — with around 6 in 10 not in employment at all (The Health Foundation, 2025). According to the OECD, unemployment rates for people with severe mental health problems in the UK are five times higher than for the general population. And yet, meaningful work is itself one of the strongest drivers of recovery. Wellspring exists to bridge that gap: offering the psychological stability that makes opportunity possible, and staying present through the journey.

“Like a wellspring, our approach is grounded, flowing, and accessible to all.”
